Habitat for Humanity of Ohio is a nonprofit, charitable, faith-based housing organization whose purpose is to assist the 64 Ohio Habitat for Humanity affiliates to build more affordable homes. We are a recognized state organization by Habitat for Humanity International and work in partnership with Ohio Habitat for Humanity affiliates to provide housing to deserving families on terms they can afford. Habitat for Humanity of Ohio supports the 64 local Habitat offices by providing services related to advocacy, training and resource development. In addition to being a centralized resource for Habitat offices around the state, Habitat Ohio works toward establishing partnerships with corporations and government agencies to further the mission of the Habitat program in Ohio. In Fiscal Year 2012, Ohio Habitat affiliates partnered with 225 families through home ownership opportunities or home repairs. To date, Ohio Habitat affiliates have provided over 4,000 Habitat homes in the state. Habitat affiliates typically serve households with incomes at or below 60% of the area median income. The Habitat program in Ohio has a foreclosure rate of approximately 2% (lower than the state and national average). To date, Ohio habitat affiliates have built more than 4,000 homes in Ohio. The Habitat for Humanity program has built more than 500,000 homes around the world and improves a family’s housing situation every six minutes of every hour of every day of the year. |
